Terms of Service

Draft — replace with your finalized date before launch

This is a starting template, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before you launch, especially once you're handling real client data or payments.

1. What Jessel is

Jessel is a tool that lets freelance developers and small studios connect a GitHub repository to a project, so that plain-language progress updates can be automatically generated and shared with their clients.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Connecting third-party services

When you connect GitHub, Google, or any other third-party service to Jessel, you're granting Jessel permission to access the specific data needed to provide the service (for example, commit activity on repositories you choose to connect). You can disconnect these services at any time from your account settings.

4. Client links

Project links you generate and share with clients are intended to be shared only with the people you choose. Anyone with a valid link can view that project's updates. You're responsible for who you share these links with.

5. Acceptable use

6. Service availability

We aim to keep Jessel available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may change, and we'll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.

7. Termination

You can stop using Jessel and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Limitation of liability

Jessel is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Jessel after changes means you accept the updated terms.
